Purpose of the Job

The purpose of the Internal Communications Manager: BusinessEngagement role is to support the delivery of the internal communications strategy and objectives by facilitating alignment andconsistency of internalbrand narratives and designsin order toconnect and engage employees to the organisation’s vision, mission and goals.The role interfaces between business stakeholders and the internal communications team to understand business needs, create a channel for idea generation and problem-solving, improve workflows and efficiencies and increase the profile of the internal communications team as a strategic employee engagement tool. The Internal Communications Manager: Business Engagement is a highly collaborative role, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, along with a passion for creating meaningful experiences and connections across a broad and diverse team.

Job Objectives

Support the delivery of the internal communication strategy through the efficient execution all business liaison initiatives from concept to delivery.
Be the first point of contact for Department for all internal communication requests and enquiries.
Work with the internal communications team to ensure alignment and?consistency of internal brand narratives and designs through the appropriate channels and in line with stakeholder needs.
Create a strong network of internal communication champions and facilitate structured communication platforms to align and cascade messaging across the organisation.
Establish and facilitate communication forums to understand business needs and identify opportunities to drive meaningful results in employee communication, engagement and sentiment.
Regularly collaborate with internal stakeholders to remain up to date on business events and campaigns across the business and ensure these initiatives are showcased internally.
Manage the execution of employee feedback platforms (e.g., surveys, focus groups), in partnership with HR, to identify opportunities to improve communication and information flow.
Support the implementation of targeted campaigns and activations to inform and engage employees on prioritised and agreed organisational topics, themes and narratives.
Work with internal stakeholders to identify sponsorships and support for agreed organisational topics, themes and narratives.
Support the internal communications team with all activities relating to the CEO’s internal communication programme, including writing scripts and briefs and supporting with arrangements and logistics of company meetings, webcasts or information sessions for employees as required.
Manage communication mailboxes, ensuring efficient and timely dissemination and responses to messages.
Monitor, measure and report on related communication channels and platforms and recommend new or improved content and/or delivery methods to ensure communication and delivery meets the needs of all stakeholders.

Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in Communications, Marketing or a related field – (essential).

Experience

4+ years experience in a similar capacity or role with demonstrable experience delivering and executing communication strategies and plans for a large corporate organisation including managing a variety of corporate communications channels, and creating content that demonstrates an understanding of messaging, positioning and stakeholder needs – (essential).
Experience in a retail environment – (desired).

Knowledge and Skills

Well-developed understanding of employee engagement strategies and translating these into meaningful experiences – (essential).
Experience delivering cross-functional communication projects for audiences across levels, functions and regions – (essential).
Experience working with a variety ofcommunication channels and platforms – (essential).
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including SharePoint Online – (essential).
